32-bit FileWrangler Version 5.3 Available
Free FileWrangler version 5.x upgrades are now available for download by registered version 3.x and 4.x users. The new trial version for 5.3 is also available from FileWrangler's download page. This powerful file management system integrates features missing from the Windows Explorer file manager, plus gives you more configuration and file viewing options to let you work more efficiently. FileWrangler remains the most complete solution for your file handling needs.
FileWrangler 5.x features include:
- New File Synchronization functions allows you to update files from one folder/drive with those contained in another folder/drive, based on specified conditions;
- Group Rename function allows renaming groups of filenames;
- New Scheduler, program launching and other options under the file drawer shortcut bar give you much more flexibility;
- Folder History list allows you to quickly return to a recently used directory folder;
- New File Library Archive Program creator allows you to produce a custom program containing your compressed files, file-by-file descriptions, contents viewer, custom interface skin, file extractor, encrytion and other options. Once you've created your own file library, you'll never want again to distribute your files in a plain old .Zip or self-extracting .Zip type archive;

- Use the new Backup and Restore features to store backup copies of files and folders;
- A flexible Enhanced HTML Editor is now included, in addition to the integrated plain-text editor (these pages were created with FileWrangler's new HTML Editor). The editor makes it easy to set frames, build tables, insert images maps, etc.;
- New file window tool bars allow you to rearrange the icons;
- A Patch File creator lets you create a small program containing only the differences between two file versions. This program may be used to update an older version of a file;
- The included paint program has been improved. Edit images simply by clicking on the Edit icon in the file window. A marked improvement over using MS Paint;
- A Favorite Folders drop-down allows you to jump directly to frequently used directory folders with a simple click;
- The improved File Drawers may now be used to launch programs;
- Upgraded File Splitter now allows you to specify gradient colors, write directly to diskettes, place your own title on the screen, etc.;
- Easier access to network drives;
- View the contents of files residing in ZIP archives, CAB archives or on FTP sites;
- An option to find duplicate files on your system when you use the Search feature;
- More options to configure file list windows;
- and many more improvements.
