Frequently Asked Questions
about IconForge and ActivIcons
Q: I can't see some drives which are attached to my system. How can I get to directories on these drives?
- These drives probably are perceived as Hidden. If you can see these drives with other software, then you can simply go to the File menu, select File Selector, and change to Windows-Style. You can also change a System Registry entry to allow the Enhanced-Style file selector to view these drives. To do this, carefully follow these steps:
- run Regedit.exe;
- click down to the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
\Software
\CursorArts
\IconForge
\Icon Browser key; - use Regedit's Edit/New to insert a new String Value;
- rename the value to: ShowSystemFiles
- right-click on ShowSystemFiles and select Modify;
- assign the number 1 in the Value Data field;
- select Exit from the Registry menu and then reboot.
When you next run IconForge, you should be able to see the other drives in both the Enhanced-Style and Windows-Style file selectors.
